A weekend in Clover!

As a birthday surprise my girlfriend organised a camper for us to take away on our annual camping trip with friends. One couple have a camper that we always covet on such occasions, to have our own, if only for a couple of days, was very exciting.......

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

‘Clover’ was a stunner, a 1978 Westy with all the bits and bobs you need for a great weekend, e.g. a bottle opener, somewhere to plug your iPod in, and a 2ltr engine to get you there.
Off we went, rather gingerly at first but I soon got the hang of it, driving is better when people wave at you and we revelled in our newly found status of Camper owners (nobody can tell you have to give it back), and we stopped for a pic-nic on route.
We had the most fantastic weekend, without the trials of putting a tent up in the rain. We slept like babies and could make a coffee in the morning…perfect.
Alas we had to return Clover, and she got us back without missing a beat, it may be a cliché but the journey really does become part of the holiday in a camper and we can’t recommend Ian and VW Kampers highly enough. We want one more than ever now, but at least we know where to go to get one.
